123 Rare Roseville Mongol lamp base with fixtures made by Davart circa 1925-1930s. The base of the pottery is marked with a Roseville Pottery foil label and the numbers 807 F93 in red crayon. The number 807 corresponds to the Rozane shape in the catalog pages, which were primarily the shapes used for Mongol. The foil label and lamp hardware are about 20 years later than the approximate time Mongol was originally produced. Based on information on Mongol, pieces that were not originally sold by retailers were returned to Roseville. Years later, these pieces were brought out of storage and decorated, refired, sold as lamps, etc. That is probably the time the piece got its foil label and hardware as the lamp fixtures and label are contemporary with one another based on their approximate dates of usage. The drill hole is very clean with a bit of glaze on the inside rim, so it is certainly from the factory. The entire pottery portion is mint and very nice. The hardware needs a new wire and the finial is a bit loose due to stripped threading. The entire lamp is 27 1/4" in total height while the pottery base is 13" tall.  800.00

190 Absolutely incredible 17" charger finely decorated with two white cranes wading in a marsh. One is picking at something to eat while the other keeps a watchful eye over their surroundings. The artwork is first rate and the quality of the piece is very high. Shockingly, the piece is neither signed by the artist nor marked by the pottery that produced it. It's amazing that given the time and effort put into such a high quality piece of art pottery, that the maker didn't care to mark it. The clay is reddish and the glaze is very high quality with slip decoration below. Suggesting it's been high fired, it's not a mere studio pot put out by an amateur. The artwork is reminiscent of that done by Albert Haubrich at Radford and Weller or Sturgis Laurence at Rookwood. The piece is mint with the exception of just a very few minor glaze scratches and a few burst bubbles in the glaze; none of these are obtrusive nor do they detract from the artwork whatsoever. 17" in diameter.  2,500.00
